What is the 2009 Honda Accord oil type?

I’m going to buy a 2009 Honda Accord from a friend of mine at a great price. That said, my husband lost his job, so we’re a bit tight on funds right now. If I change the oil myself, what type do I need for a 2009 Honda Accord?

Sorry to hear that your spouse lost his job! Don’t stress too much; you can definitely save some cash by changing the oil on your car by yourself. A 2009
Honda Accord
requires 5W-20 motor oil, but whether you choose a synthetic, blend, or conventional is entirely up to you.
If you have a 2.4-liter four-cylinder Accord, you’re going to need 4.4 quarts of motor oil. If you have a 3.5-liter V-6 Accord, an oil change requires 4.5 quarts. Whatever engine you have, make sure that you wear latex gloves to keep the oil off your hands and then properly dispose of the old motor oil to prevent ground contamination.
