What is the best year for a used RAV4 Hybrid?

I think for my next car I’m going to buy a Toyota Hybrid. I’ve heard that used RAV4s are pretty reliable. What model year of the RAV4 Hybrid would be the best choice?

Buying a used car
 can be exciting! If you’re looking for a used RAV4 Hybrid, the best model years are 2020 and 2021. There are other benefits to investing in RAV4 Hybrids from 2020 onward, including:
  • Fuel efficiency of 41 city/38 highway/40 combined mpg
  • Relatively inexpensive to insure compared to other models
  • Well-built with a comfortable interior, plenty of tech, and a suite of safety features
  • Editors’ Choice accolade and an 8.5/10 rating from Car and Driver (all models)
  • Seating for five passengers
If you’re looking for model years to avoid, on the other hand, the 2016 and 2019 RAV4 Hybrids have the most customer complaints.
