What is the 2009 Dodge Caliber oil type?

My dad has a 2009 Dodge Caliber and doesn’t want to do the oil changes on it anymore. Since I do my own, I said I would do this, too. But what kind of oil does it use?

It’s great that you’re helping your dad out with oil changes! The 2009
Dodge Caliber
uses a 5W-20 type of motor oil like SAE 5W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil by Liqui Moly®. You can use conventional oil in your Caliber, but synthetic oil is recommended for better engine performance and to increase the interval between oil changes.
In addition to doing an oil change, here are some other maintenance items to consider checking, although some you may have to consult with a mechanic if you’re unsure of how to check them yourself:
  • Brake component inspection
  • Reset maintenance counter
  • Tire rotation
  • Fuel system service
  • Wheel alignment
  • Oil change
  • Oil filter replacement
  • Fluid level checks and corrections
  • Tire inflation check and correction
