What Is Lexus Adaptive Cruise Control?
I just bought a new Lexus and I was told that it has something called adaptive cruise control. What exactly is that?

Congratulations on your new Lexus! Many late models of Lexus come with a form of adaptive cruise control called Lexus Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (LDRCC). Basically, what this means is that the cruise control uses radars and cameras to respond intelligently to surrounding traffic and objects.
One of the main functions of adaptive cruise control is that your
Lexus
will adjust its speed if there is a car in front of you, slowing down to maintain a safe following distance. If it detects a stationary object ahead, it will apply the brakes and stop the car entirely.To use your adaptive cruise control system, you’ll turn it on and set it exactly the same way you would set traditional cruise control.
- Find where the cruise control on/off button is located
- Accelerate to the desired speed
- Use the Set/- button to lock in the speed
Your Lexus will maintain that speed until there is a stationary or slower moving object in the way. Then it will respond accordingly. Once the way is clear again, it will accelerate back to the set speed.
