What is a good number of miles on a used car?

I'm looking into buying a used car and I was wondering how much mileage is a good amount for a used car. What mileage should I be looking for?

It’s great that you’re looking at mileage, as cars with higher mileage will generally show more signs of
wear and tear
than cars that stay in the garage. The mileage will differ for every car you look at, but a good average mileage per year is 12,000.
This is the average distance a U.S. car travels every year—so, for example, if you’re looking at a 10 year old car, a good mileage number would be around 120,000 miles. This will help you ensure that the car you choose isn’t too worn out or close to breaking down.
If you’re thinking about buying a used car, you’ll probably need to get insurance, too. Luckily, the
Jerry
app makes this process easy by collecting insurance quotes for you, so you can quickly find the lowest rate for the coverage you need.
