Should I take a policy that only offers a temporary discount?

I recently got a quote from Progressive that would save me about 20% more than my current rate, but the discount only applies for six months. Is it worth it to switch? How much will my rate increase after the discount stops?

“Saving money on
car insurance
is what everyone wants, so it makes sense that you’re considering switching.
If
Progressive
is offering better rates now, it may be worth it to switch, even if the discount is temporary.
Once your policy term is up for renewal, you can see what your new rate will be. While you can ask a Progressive agent how much the temporary discount is, you may have to wait until renewal to find out your exact rate. As insurance rates vary depending on factors like claims, age, and your driving record, you rate could vary from term to term.
If you’re not happy with your rate at renewal, you can compare quotes again with other companies. As long as you maintain insurance continuously, you shouldn’t see a penalty for switching companies every six months.
One of the best ways to find good prices on
car insurance
is to use the

app. Jerry compares quotes from top providers in seconds and even helps with the paperwork to switch providers. And the best part–Jerry does all of this for free.”
