Is it better to have car insurance and home insurance with the same company?

I've heard often enough that I should bundle my car and home policies to get better prices. Is this true?

“In many cases, yes, it’s cheaper for you to have
car insurance
and home insurance with the same company. This is because most companies offer a multi-policy discount to their policyholders.
Depending on the company and your coverage level, these discounts can range from as little as five percent to as much as 15%. So be sure to shop around and compare rates to get the best deal.”
