What are the best snow tires for a Nissan Maxima?
Are there any brands of snow tires that are good for the Nissan Maxima? I want to stay safe now that winter is here, but I’m not sure which brands are good.

Some of the best snow tires for the Nissan Maxima include:
- Bridgestone Blizzak WS90
- Firestone WeatherGrip
- Hankook Winter i*cept IZ2
- Milestar Weatherguard AW365
- Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus
Any of these tires will perform very well in the snow. However, you’ll notice that many of the snow tire options for the Maxima are actually all-season tires rather than snow tires. This is because snow tires are made for heavy, slippery snow which makes driving conditions dangerous and difficult.
While the Nissan Maxima will perform well in light to moderately snowy conditions, it wasn’t made to travel in heavy snow. As such, equipping a Nissan Maxima with snow tires isn’t the most common, nor the most effective, choice. Most drivers would rather get behind the wheel of an SUV or another large vehicle with four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive capabilities. In short, the Nissan Maxima, with its two-wheel drive and 5.2-inch ground clearance, isn’t the first choice for habitual winter drivers.
If you’ve just moved to a place with lots of snow, though, make sure to update your car insurance policy to reflect your change of address. This will ensure that you’re protected if you get into an accident on the new terrain.
