Is I-90 in New York a toll road?

I’m going to be traveling clear across New York, and I’d like to stick to the interstate if possible. But is I-90 in New York a toll road?

Nearly the entire distance of I-90 in
New York
is a toll road. It is part of the NY Thruway.
There’s a small section outside of
Buffalo
that doesn’t apply a toll and another part in
Albany
that’s not part of the Thruway system. Otherwise, if you take I-90 across the state, you will pay tolls for your travel from end to end.
The amount you pay will depend on the size of the vehicle you’re driving, your payment system, and what route you plan to take. Luckily, the New York Thruway Authority has a couple of handy tools to help you figure out exactly how much your tolls will be.
These are:
  • Vehicle class guide: You can find out which class your vehicle falls into on
    www.thruway.ny.gov
    .
  • Toll and distance calculator: Once you know your vehicle class and your route, use the toll and distance calculator on the same site to find out what you’ll be charged.
Another thing to do before setting out is to make sure your New York
car insurance
is providing the protection you need at a fair price. Compare rates from multiple insurers quickly and easily using the
Jerry
app.
