I currently live in Colorado, where it’s still legal to talk on the phone while driving. However, I’m currently in California for work and forgot you can’t do that here. I got a ticket for talking on my phone, and now I’m worried about the consequences. Is a cell phone ticket a moving violation in California?

is not a moving violation. It is only considered an infraction, so all you have to do is pay your fine. Unless you’re a repeat offender or the ticket was issued in conjunction with a distracted driving citation, you won’t get any points on your license.
