How often should I get a car alignment?

I’m a new car owner and I’m curious about wheel alignments. I know this is something that should be done regularly—but how often?

“This is a great question! Most car experts recommend scheduling your car for an alignment every other oil change, or about every 6,000 miles.
However, alignment requirements vary from vehicle to vehicle, so it’s always a good idea to check the owner’s manual or consult a mechanic to learn what’s best for your car.
Beyond that, beware of certain situations and symptoms that may necessitate an alignment like:
  • After you get new tires
  • If your vehicle pulls to one side while driving
  • If you hit potholes or large bumps very frequently
Getting an alignment can save you and your vehicle from poor performance and unsafe driving, so it’s never a bad idea to get one done.
