How much is it to repair a 2012 ford focus front bumper?
Someone in a grocery store parking lot tagged up my 2012 Ford Focus’ front bumper in a hit and run. Police are investigating and my insurance provider is involved, but how much will it cost to repair or replace my 2012 Ford Focus bumper?

That’s awful! We’re truly sorry this happened to you, and unfortunately, our news here isn’t great. Depending on the severity of the damage, repairs can end up getting very expensive on a 2012 Ford Focus’ front bumper.
Here are some of the general repair costs you’ll likely be looking at:
- Ford’s OEM front bumper assembly costs $463.43. That part comes unpainted, and painting is typically one of the more expensive elements of body repairs
- Ford’s OEM grilles range from around $50 to approximately $170. There are two grilles on the front end of the Focus, and which grilles you’ll need will vary based on the car’s trim level
- As a general rule, you should expect repairing scratches to cost between $50 and $600, depending on if they require buffing or painting
- Dents typically cost $100 to $600 to repair. These costs are heightened if painting is necessary
- Replacing the whole bumper can range from $800 to $5,000, or even more, and will trend toward those higher costs given the complexity of the Focus’ bumper
Contrary to popular belief, a car isn’t totaled because an airbag goes off. A car is totaled when the costs of repairs exceed the fair market value of the car. So it’s unfortunately possible that replacing the bumper could result in your 2012 Ford Focus being totaled. So let’s hope you don’t need that!
