2015 Dodge Challenger Interior Review

The Dodge Challenger’s redesign in 2015 has stood the test of time, offering a beautiful blend of form and function.

Redesigned for 2015, the Dodge Challenger offers practicality, comfort, and a thrilling driving experience.
In 2015, Dodge released the face-lift of the third-generation Challenger, a car that combines old-time nostalgia with cutting-edge power. Although we love its souped-up fenders and pert derrière, the revamped interior takes the cake. The new, curvaceous cockpit is perfect for cradling your jaw as you rocket to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.

2015 Dodge Challenger interior

Those looking to buy a used muscle coupe based solely on performance can stop reading after the next paragraph.
The base
2015 Challenger SXT
boasts a 3.6L V6 engine that can produce 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque, with an eight-speed automatic transmission at the reins. At the
R/T trim
, an optional six-speed manual pairs with a 5.7L V8 (375-hp, 400 lb-ft of torque).
The
R/T Scat Pack
and
SRT 392
upgrade to a 6.4L V8 engine (485-hp and 475 lb-ft of torque), but the
SRT Hellcat
is a rocket ship on wheels. True to its name, its 6.2L supercharged V8 engine has quite the growl, putting out 707-hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.
In 2015, the starting MSRP for a Challenger was $26,995. As a testament to the quality of the vehicle, the average price for a used 2015
SXT Plus
has barely depreciated, fetching an average of $28,000. A well-groomed SRT Hellcat, on the other hand, can cost up to $84,000.

Seating

The 2015 Challenger seats five, and unlike most coupes, the backseat is roomy enough to suit adult passengers. Dodge softened the cabin lines, resulting in pleasantly-bolstered front sport seats. The rear bench is plain but plump enough to satisfy guests.
Here’s what to expect from the seating:
  • Premium cloth sport seats: SXT, R/T, R/T Shaker, R/T Scat Pack
  • Six-way power driver seat with power lumbar adjustment: All trims
  • Four-way manual passenger seat with manual lumbar adjustment: All trims
  • Split-folding rear seatback: All trims
  • Heated front seats: Cold Weather Group ($395), Leather Interior Group ($1,500)
  • Heated and ventilated Nappa Performance leather front seats: SXT Plus, R/T Plus, R/T Plus Shaker, R/T Scat Pack Shaker
  • Heated and ventilated Nappa/Alcantara Performance leather front seats with accent stitching: SRT 392, SRT Hellcat

Tech

With a Challenger, you expect the focus to be on driving, not tech or driver assistance aids. The SXT comes with a bare-bones setup, which includes:
  • 7.0-inch customizable gauge cluster display
  • 5.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with Uconnect, voice controls, Bluetooth, and an auxiliary audio jack
  • Six-speaker sound system with radio and single CD tray
  • Keyless entry and ignition
  • Cruise control
  • Dual-zone front climate controls
There’s a lot of technology to cover, so here are the highlights. SXT Plus, R/T Plus, and R/T Scat Pack models come with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, and rearview camera. After that, you’ll have to jump to the SRT 392 or Hellcat to enjoy the 18-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, blind-spot monitoring, and universal garage door opener.
If you aren’t willing to upgrade trims, look for cars equipped with the Technology ($395), Sound ($695), or Sound II ($795) packs. Drivers looking for more safety than splash should consider the Driver Convenience Group ($995), which includes the door opener, blind-spot monitoring, and rearview camera. Even without these options, the Challenger earns a respectable
five-star crash rating from the NHTSA
and
mixed ratings from the IIHS
.

Storage

The 2015 Charger is fast but has the chops for a long trip. The trunk has an above-average capacity of 16.2 cubic feet, which expands after folding down the rear seatbacks. Our only complaint is that the Challenger forces you to lift your luggage fairly high just to load it.

Style

The interior of the 2015 Challenger is one of its strengths. The controls and cockpit are sleek and futuristic without being alienating. The central touchscreen and console are canted towards the driver with theme-appropriate but readable writing. A combination of metal accents, thoughtful design, and good build quality makes it easy to find what you want and enjoy using it.
The standard Sedoso premium cloth sport seats are only issued in Black and Houndstooth, but there are five hues of Nappa leather available. Only the top-of-the-line SRT and SRT Hellcat can access premium Laguna leather in Sepia or Black.

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
