However, it’s much more likely that you’ll pay between $35,000 and $45,000 for a 4Runner that’s in average condition and seems to be functioning well.If you want to pay less, you’ll need to compromise on the condition of the vehicle. Toyota 4Runners that are closer to the $3,500 range are typically pretty old with a lot of miles on them, which drives their value down. The older a car is and the more miles it has, the more likely it is to break down or require major (and expensive) repairs.
Typically, a good car that will last you for a while should be relatively new. Vehicles from 2015 and later will often do much better long-term than older vehicles will. If you want your 4Runner to last you for a while, consider investing a little more in the initial price.
