I was on the highway, and the truck I was driving behind threw up some gravel on my Tesla Model Y windshield. It’s not completely cracked, but I have a few good nicks in it that I’m concerned will grow. How much does a windshield replacement cost?

windshield can cost anywhere from $1,000 to upwards of $2,000, depending on where you have it fixed. With some vehicles, having your windshield repaired is a cheaper option than a full replacement, but this may not be the case with a Tesla—you might have to replace the entire windshield.
The windshield itself costs around $800, and you have to pay labor on top of that. So, in general, you’re looking at around $1,300 for a complete replacement.
The problem with cracks in a Tesla windshield is that depending on the location, the damage could interfere with the image captured by the cameras, causing the Autopilot system to become inoperable. But regardless of the location of the crack, it will likely still be visible and could result in visual disruptions.
However, the ultimate cost of a Tesla Model Y windshield replacement for you will largely depend on labor costs at the repair shop, as well as the price of the replacement windshield and any other necessary parts.
