I’m sure you get this all the time, but I, too, want an electric car! I’m so excited to stop spending my paycheck at the pump and go on ALLLLL the road trips I’ve been dreaming of. However, I don’t even know where to begin and how much money to save. Can you give me an idea of how much electric cars cost in the UK?

Excellent choice, my friend! Taking long road trips is one of the many awesome benefits of having an eco-friendly car. If you’re looking to buy an electric car, the price will depend on the brand and type of model you choose. Here’s an idea of the typical cost of electric cars in the UK:
- The Peugeot e-208 starts at around** £26,025** and comes with a 217-mile range. The little hatchback is a great value and offers 138 hp.
- The quaint Skoda CITIGOe iV starts at £15,000 and can charge up to 80% in just one hour. The four-seater is one of the most affordable options on the market.
- The MG ZS EV costs £28,495 and has a 140-mile range on average. The spacious SUV also offers plenty of driver-assist features.
- If you’ve got a bigger budget, the base model of the Tesla Model 3 starts at £45,990, while the Long-Range trim costs £54,990 and the Performance trim will set you back £59,990. Model Y’s go for around £54,990.
