How many Jaguar XK8s were made?

How many Jaguar XK8s were made? I love how they look and I like the idea of getting one for myself someday.

There doesn’t seem to be a readily available tally for how many
Jaguar XK8s
were made, but the easy answer here would be “not too many.” Combined with the performance-oriented XKR, it’s possible that less than 100,000 in all were produced.
The
XK8
was the original generation of the Jaguar XK and replaced the outgoing XJS. Its model years span a ten-years from 1996 to 2006, and it was available as a coupe or a convertible.
A couple of years in, the more powerful XKR options were introduced alongside the XK8.
Initially, the XK8 used a then-new 4.0-liter V8 engine capable of up to 290 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque. From 2003 onward, its engine was upgraded to a 4.2-liter engine, and those numbers were boosted to 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.
For comparison, the XKR’s horsepower ranged from 370 to 400 horsepower and 387 to 408 pound-feet of torque.
The XK8 was phased out after the vehicle’s second generation, which simply went by “XK.” The XKR variant was still available alongside it until 2014, when
Jaguar
discontinued it.
So, what are the odds you find a Jaguar XK8 for sale? Definitely not zero, but far less likely than a
Ford F-150
. So be sure to protect it with the right
car insurance
policy if you get one!
