The Netherlands is a small nation in Europe but they do have a high number of electric vehicles on the road. In 2020 the country had about 292,000 electric cars registered with a large number of those being battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
Despite being small, they are mighty. As one of the most densely populated nations in the world, the Netherlands is also one of the leading EV markets.
For traffic jams during rush hour, EVs create a great option for city driving to both save on fuel and keep the air clean. The Dutch government has provided strong incentives for drivers which helped with the conversion to EVs.
