Volkswagen has a few EVs in the works
for the next few years, but it's ID.4 model is the one turning heads right now. This electric car
promises to be the crossover to beat due to its luxurious features and affordability. In fact, it was named Car of the Year for 2021. What exactly does the VW ID.4 offer consumers? Is the VW ID.4 really so luxurious?
The VW ID.4 is more than luxurious. It offers more than many other EV models near its price range. It comes in two trims, the Pro and the Pro S. Each one also offers both rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive.
The Pro version (base) has heated mirrors, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, a dual-zone climate control system, and adaptive cruise control. If you choose the AWD model, you can also get a heated windshield. It starts at $40,760, according to AutoTrader
. The VW ID.4 Pro S trim is a step up from the Pro version, and it offers a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting with 30 colors, a 12-inch infotainment display, as well as adaptive headlights. The price for this trim starts at approximately $46,455 after the $1,195 destination fee.
What other specs will the SUV come with?
The VW ID.4 model has automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring when it comes to driver assistance.
The Pro S offers a hands-free power liftgate, power-folding side mirrors, 12-way adjusting front seats with massaging feature, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Both models offer unique items as well. EVs are normally quiet, but at higher speeds, wind noise is more pronounced, but not with the VW ID.4. You need to get up to about 75 mph to hear any noise in the cabin area.
Also, you don't have a push-button feature to start it up. If you have the key fob on you, all you have to do is get into the vehicle, sit in the driver's seat, and start automatically.
