Getting car insurance for the first time can be a daunting task since it usually involves a lot of paperwork and phone calls.
Here’s how to start a policy:
- First, figure out whattypes of coverageyou need. Your state has laws surrounding which type of coverage you’re required to carry, so be sure to get at least thestate’s minimumamount of insurance.
- Next, gather all the information you need. This might include your driver’s license number, date of birth, address, job, and driving history. You’ll also need information about your car, namely your vehicle registration number and your vehicle identification number (VIN).
- Once you have everything you need, start collecting quotes. You should try to get at least three quotes from different insurers so that you know that you’re getting a fair price.
