Changing the windshield wipers on a 2016
Ford Explorer
can be pretty confusing for a first-timer. But once you understand how it’s done, the process is quick and easy.Before you get started, be sure that you’ve picked up the proper-sized windshield wipers for your car. You should be able to find the appropriate size listed in your owner’s manual.
From there, here’s how to change out the wipers:
- Turn your wipers on and then off again when the wipers are midway across the windshield.
- Lift your wipers from the windshield and match the lengths of the new wipers to the lengths of the old. Rest each blade on the hood on its corresponding side.
- Remove the old wiper blades. Ford Explorers have a pinch tab attachment to the wipers that must be pressed in order to slide the old wipers off.
- Connect your new blades and double-check that they are locked on properly before lowering them back onto your windshield. And you’re done!
