How do you remove mold from a car interior?
I accidentally left my convertible’s roof down when it rained last week. Now my interior looks like a birds-eye view of the amazon rainforest. How do I get rid of mold in my car?

Removing mold from a car interior is a fairly simple process. All you’ll need is a vacuum, white vinegar, a spray bottle, rags, and a scrubbing brush.
Once you have all the supplies, follow these steps:
- Step 1: Remove personal items. Start by getting rid of all the big pieces of trash or belongings that might get in the way.
- Step 2: Vacuum everything. Every bit of mold that gets picked up by your vacuum is another little piece you won’t need to deal with.
- Step 3: Fill a spray bottle with vinegar and spray it everywhere. You’ll want to saturate your carpet, seats, and anywhere else you find mold. Unfortunately, mold can live beneath the surface—so what you see may not be everything.
- Step 4: Use a brush to work in the vinegar. Using your scrubbing brush, really work the vinegar into your interior. Scrub everything you can but do so gently on more sensitive materials.
- Step 5: Repeat steps 3-4 and let it dry. Once you’ve scrubbed out all the mold, crack the windows and wait for everything to dry.
