How do you open the gas tank on a Honda Civic from 2015?
I’ve been borrowing my partner’s car a lot this weekend while mine’s been in for service. I want to do them a favor and fill up the tank before they have to go to work on Monday. I’m a little lost, though—how do you open the gas tank on a 2015 Honda Civic?

, all you have to do is press down on the fuel door release handle at the base of the driver’s seat on the left. Make sure you don’t pull up on the handle, as this will pop open the Civic’s trunk (in sedan models) instead. Here are a few more pointers to ensure your success at the gas station:
- Gas is pumped on the driver’s side in the 2015 Civic
- The fuel tank capacity for most 2015 Civic trims is 13.2 gallons
Keep in mind that the CNG takes 7.7 gallons of compressed natural gas when slow-filling and 6.5 gallons when fast-filling. If you need any more information on your partner’s Civic, take a look at the label inside the driver’s door jamb for your Civic’s tire inflation pressure if you want to
