The reason that you can’t find the gas tank lever inside your car is that there isn’t one! Instead, to open the gas tank on a
BMW
, press on the fuel door. As long as your car is unlocked and in park, the door should pop open.If your car is locked, however, you won’t be able to open the fuel door at all. This is to prevent anyone from tampering with your gas tank or siphoning your fuel.
If you’re still having trouble opening your fuel door after placing your car in park and unlocking the doors, something is likely wrong. Contact a mechanic or your dealer to help you out.
