How do you open the gas tank in a Honda Civic?
My partner and I are in San Francisco visiting family. We are borrowing his sister’s 2018 Honda while we’re here because our hotel is far from his family's house. I need to get gas, but I don’t know how to open the gas tank. How do you open the fuel door on a Civic?

Figuring out how someone else’s car works can definitely be a challenge! But that’s nice of your partner’s sister to loan you two a vehicle for your visit.
- Before driving to the gas station, walk around the outside of the vehicle to figure out where the gas tank is.
- Drive to a gas station and park on the appropriate side at an available gas pump.
- Turn off the vehicle, get out, and walk over to the fuel door.
- Press on the right side of the fuel door to release it, then fully open the door to access the gas tank opening.
