How do you get ice off your car window without using a scraper?
My buddy told me he scratched his glass with an ice scraper. Another friend said that she scratched her paint when the scraper slipped off the window. I need a method that won’t damage my car! What’s the best way to get rid of ice on your car window without using scrapers?

ways to handle it
aside from using a scraper. Here are our top methods for getting rid of ice without a scraper:- Lukewarm water should quickly turn the ice to slush which you can easily wipe away. Make sure the water isn’t hot since the quick temperature change could crack your window.
- Deicers are commonly found in supermarkets and gas stations. Simply spray some on your window and watch the ice melt away.
- Engine heat can also get your window clear. All you need to do is start your car and direct the air to the window. Since any air will likely be warmer than the ice, the window should start clearing.
If you want to prevent ice on your windows, a home remedy can also help. Strangely enough, you can stop your window from freezing by cutting a potato in half and rubbing it on the window the night before. Potatoes contain glycerol, a chemical used in antifreeze, which can stop ice from collecting on your window.
