1. Audi A5

Starting price: $43,900 to $52,200
Selling points: Excellent performance, classy interior, plenty of standard tech features
Weak spot: Limited cargo space and interior storage
If you’re looking for overall style and performance, the 2022
Audi A5
has you covered. While the sporty luxury compact sedan doesn’t quite compare to the Kia Stinger’s performance power, it does come equipped with a peppy 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that boasts between 201 and 261 horsepower for the Sportback 40 TFSI and 45 TFSI engine, respectively.
But the A5 does outshine the Stinger when it comes to towing power—with a surprising 3,700 pound towing capacity for such a small luxury sedan. The A5 also receives a much better fuel economy compared to the Stinger with 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway.

2. BMW 4 Series

Starting price: $45,200 to $53,300
Selling points: Powerful turbo engines, decent fuel economy
Weak spot: Cramped backseat
The 2022
BMW 4 Series
certainly gives the Kia Stinger a run for its money when it comes to engine power. While the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four boasts a respectable 255 horsepower in the base 430i model, the M440i model steps it up a notch with a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine that growls with 382 horsepower and 364 lb-ft of torque with an impressive 3.8-second zero to 60 time.
Not only is the 4 Series slightly more powerful than the Stinger, but the luxury compact car—available as a two-door coupe or convertible—also has a leg up when it comes to fuel efficiency. The BMW 4 Series receives 25 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. And if you require more space, the Stinger competitor gets about five more inches of cargo volume.

3. Genesis G70

Starting price: $37,750 to $52,750
Selling points: Good value, quick acceleration, impressive handling
Weak spot: Snug back seat, poor fuel economy
The 2022
Genesis G70
is similar to the Kia Stinger in terms of performance power when it is equipped with a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that roars with 356 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque that can soar from zero to 60 in just 4.3 seconds. Overall, this luxury sports sedan is fun-to-drive and provides a smooth ride with excellent handling that all sports car fans can appreciate.
But the G70 also steps it up when it comes to the ultimate in luxury with an upscale interior full of soft leather surfaces and other high-quality materials. The sports sedan comes standard with plenty of high-tech features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen display and 8-inch digital instrument panel, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You’ll also get tons of standard driver-assistance technologies such as automated emergency braking, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control

4. Lexus IS

Starting price: $39,125 to $64,400
Selling points: All-around upscale styling, sporty handling, several engine options
Weak spot: Cramped backseat, poor fuel economy
The Kia Stinger is no match for the 2022
Lexus IS
when it comes to performance power. The luxury compact sports sedan comes with three engine options, but when equipped with the powerful 5.0-liter V8 engine, your rivals will feel the ground shaking with 472 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque as you fly from zero to 60 in just 4.3 seconds
In addition to excellent performance, the IS also boasts plenty of standard tech features such as a remote touch infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 10-speaker stereo, and more. You’ll also be in safe hands as the IS has a five-star NHTSA rating along with standard driver-assistance adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and automated emergency braking.

5. Alfa Romeo Giulia

Starting price: $43,350 to $78,830
Selling points: High performance, sleek styling, comfortable ride
Weak spot: Tight rear seat, high price tag
Do you have the ultimate need for speed? You’ll definitely leave the Kia Stinger in the dust at the race track with the 2022
Alfa Romeo Giulia
. Look to the high-performance
Quadrifoglio
trim that comes equipped with a mighty 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that generates 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque with a ridiculous 3.8-second 0-60 time.
While the Giulia dominates the Kia Stinger in terms of speed, don’t expect the luxury sports sedan to save you the pump like the competition. Unfortunately, the Giulia gets a low 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. But the Italian stallion makes up for this shortcoming with tons of standard features like keyless entry/ignition, remote start, leather upholstery, and dual-zone automatic climate control, along with advanced driver aids such as full-speed forward collision warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control.

6. Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Starting price: $43,550 to $55,400
Selling points: Good performance, high-tech features, upscale interior
Weak spot: Infotainment system not intuitive
If you’re looking for a beautiful blend of performance, luxury, and cutting-edge technology, the 2022
Mercedes-Benz
C-Class delivers. While the sporty luxury sedan may have a hard time keeping up with the Kia Stinger, all C-Class trim levels are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine that boasts a respectable 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque
While the Stinger might conquer its competition on the track, the C-Class does provide better fuel economy with 25 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. Additionally, you’ll be blown away by all the futuristic standard tech features such as a giant 11.9-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, biometric (fingerprint) memory setting, voice recognition, and so much more.

7. Kia K5

Starting price: $23,790 to $31,190
Selling points: Affordable, good fuel economy, plenty of standard features
Weak spot: Not as powerful compared to the competition
Can the Kia Stinger handle some friendly competition from the
Kia K5
? While the K5 cannot match the Stinger when it comes to performance, even with the top
GT
model’s 290-hp turbocharged inline-4 engine, the midsize sedan does blow the competition out of the water when it comes to affordability, practicality, and functionality
With a starting price that’s about $12,500 cheaper than the Stinger, the K5 will also help you save at the pump with 29 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway. And while the K5 isn’t technically considered a luxury vehicle like the rest of the competition, the midsize sedan still has a touch of luxuriousness with wood trim on the dashboard and available upscale interior features like a panoramic sunroof, ambient interior lighting, and heated front seats.

8. BMW 3 Series

Starting price: $41,450 to $44,950
Selling points: Powerful engine options, athletic handling, roomy interior
Weak spot: Complicated infotainment system, lacks standard driver-assist tech
If you’re looking for a powerful yet fuel-efficient engine power, then the
BMW
3 Series might be the luxury compact sedan for you. But the 3 Series barely beats out Kia Stinger’s twin-turbo V6 even with the top-of-the-line M340i trim that’s equipped with a fierce 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine that booms with 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque
But the 3 Series does stand out from the competition in terms of fuel economy with 26 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. And compared to the Stinger, you’ll also get tons of convenient standard features with the 3 Series like a moonroof, rain-sensing wipers, power-adjustable front seats, heated side mirrors, a self-dimming rearview mirror, and more.
