2022 Kia Soul customization options

The 2022 Kia Soul is a third-generation compact crossover SUV, beloved for its distinctive styling, boxy shape, and roomy interior. It’s also a smooth driver with a standard air suspension system.

The lineup starts with the

, priced at $19,290. This base build features a 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine that gets 147 horsepower. It also comes standard with remote keyless entry, a tilt-and-telescope steering wheel, a six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, and an 8-inch touchscreen display.

Its infotainment features enable Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth streaming. You can also add on a few standard upgrades and options, like auto-dimming mirrors and mudguards.

If you level up to the 2022 Kia Soul S trim, starting at $21,950, you’ll find several driver-assistance features and 16-inch alloy wheels come standard. The S trim also has a bigger touchscreen display than the LX, along with wireless phone charging and dual-zone climate control. It has 10-way adjustable drivers seats, compared to the LX’s six-way seats. Otherwise, with the S, you’ve got all the same color options and the same engine performance as the LX.

Where the GT-Line and X-Line really diverge is appearances. The X-Line goes for a more rugged look, with its 18-inch alloy wheels that are specific to the X-Line trim, a rugged exterior body trim package, and fog lights. The GT-Line has a sporty look, with 18-inch sport alloy wheels, a high gloss exterior trim package, and a power sunroof.

EX and Turbo trims

Things begin to get even more interesting with the

EX trim

, starting at $23,950, and the Turbo trim, starting at $27,890.

The EX comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar adjustments, heated front seats, premium cloth seat trim, a cargo cover, a power sunroof, and driver-assistance technology. As with the GT-Line, you can add wheel locks as well as the standard suite of options and accessories available from Kia.

The Turbo trim, however, makes its case for the higher price tag with its performance. Unlike the 2022 Kia Soul’s other trims, the Turbo has a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters comes standard, along with a power sunroof, 18-inch sport wheels, a sporty exterior trim, LED headlights, fog lights, heated front seats and steering wheel, and a higher-end seat cloth.
