Matching Mercedes Bluetooth names could certainly get confusing for the two of you! Depending on your phones, you may be able to change your Mercedes Bluetooth name directly from your device.
Typically, all you have to do is open your “Settings”, go to the “Bluetooth option,” and click on the “i” next to your current Mercedes Bluetooth name. If your device allows you to rename it, you should be able to do so at this point.
Unfortunately, you can’t always change your Mercedes Bluetooth name in your device, and you can’t change it from the Mercedes itself either. Newer models may help you differentiate vehicles with unique numbers following the standard “MB Bluetooth,” so try to keep a mental note of these distinctions if this is the case.
If you’re having trouble with your phone not automatically connecting to your Mercedes Bluetooth, keep in mind that most Mercedes vehicles will prioritize the last connected Bluetooth device. If your partner’s phone happened to be the last device to connect in your vehicle, you can simply toggle to your device under “Connect” from the touchscreen’s main menu.
You can also remove your phone from your partner’s Mercedes (or vice versa) by selecting your device’s name under “Connect”, then hitting “Deauthorize.” On your phone, you can then remove your partner’s Mercedes Bluetooth by clicking on it under “Connected Devices” and then hitting “Forget this device.”
If you happen to remove your Mercedes Bluetooth by mistake, you’ll just need to pair your phone again. You can consult your owner’s manual for directions specific to your model.
