How do I shop for cheaper car insurance?

I want to lower my insurance rates, and I've heard a good way to do that is by shopping around. How do I do that? Where do I start?

Shopping around is a great way to save on car insurance. Prices will vary from company to company, and there are a lot of options to save money.
The easiest way to lower your monthly payment is finding a lower price quote. If you want to do the shopping yourself, you’ll need to call at least three different insurance companies to get quotes so you can compare.
An easier way to do this, though, is by using the
Jerry
app. We’ll collect personalized insurance quotes for you, so that you don’t have to waste time calling different agencies yourself. (And if you find a plan you like, we’ll even help you switch.)
It’s also good to keep in mind that some cars are
cheaper to insure
than others. If you’re thinking of buying a new car, compare insurance costs first. You can also lower your rate by having a good credit history, as many insurers base their rates partially on your credit score.
Some companies will also offer various discounts, so check with your insurer to see if you qualify for any of those! Additionally,
bundling
your home and auto insurance can sometimes save you money. Check with your insurer to see if a home and auto bundle is right for you.
Best of luck, and happy shopping!
