Kudos to you for wanting to make sure your insurance is up-to-date! I’m happy to say that checking your car insurance is an easy process. Here’s where to look:
  • Your email or snail mail. When you signed up for your current plan, your insurance provider likely sent your information to your email or to your mailing address, so I would check these first!
  • Your online insurance account. Many insurance providers let you
    check your information
through an online account or a mobile app, so you can look there! Alternatively, you can also call your insurance provider.
  • The DMV. If you can’t find your information anywhere else, the DMV has information on all registered drivers. You will need your proof of insurance to do this, but as long as you are a registered driver, they will absolutely have your information.
If you’re uninsured, or if you don’t like what you find out, it might be time to switch. The easiest way to do this is through the
Jerry
—we’ll get you personalized quotes from top insurers in seconds, so that all you need to do is pick the plan that works best for you. And once you choose a plan, we’ll help you switch over, too!
Best of luck with the search!
