How do I put a Honda Odyssey in neutral with a dead battery?

My Honda Odyssey has a dead battery, but it’s parked headfirst in my one-car garage. The only way to jump-start the vehicle is to push it outside of the garage, but I can’t get it into neutral. What do I do to put the Odyssey in neutral if it has a dead battery?

That sounds frustrating for sure. If you want to put a Honda Odyssey in neutral with a dead battery, simply follow these steps:
  1. Hop into the driver’s seat.
  2. On the top of the steering wheel column, you should see a small plastic lid about an inch or so wide.
  3. Remove this plastic lid.
  4. Once you have the lid removed, take your key and place it in the hole. You should feel a spring-loaded switch/button.
  5. Keep the button pressed down.
  6. On the steering column, move the gear shift down twice to put the vehicle in neutral.
