.
That said, you may be able to prevent a ticket from going on your record with a ticket deferral. If granted the option for ticket deferral by the court, you will be obligated to keep your record clean during a specified deferral period for the traffic violation in question to be dismissed.
Though traffic violations remain on your Florida driving record indefinitely, the points associated with them fall off over time.
  • The three points accrued as the result of a
    Florida speeding ticket
    will fall off after three years from the date of conviction.
  • You may be able to get these points removed more quickly by completing a Florida driver improvement course.
  • In some instances, you can take a defensive driving course to have a ticket fully dismissed.
