It’s always a good idea to inspect windshield wipers, and if you can see they are cracked or excessively worn, replace them as soon as possible. Changing out wipers on your Dodge Journey should be straightforward.
Here are the basic steps:
  • Lift the wiper arm gently away from the window
  • Rotate the blade so that it is perpendicular with the wiper arm
  • Look for a tab or clip connecting the wiper blade to the arm
  • Press down on the tab or clip while also carefully popping the blade off the arm
  • Slide the used blade off
  • Slide the new blade onto the wiper arm
  • Put the new blade into place, clicking it into the clip. (Note: Many blades come with adaptors, but you may not need the adaptor)
  • After lowering the wiper arm back into place, repeat these steps with the other blade
You can always consult your owner’s manual for directions specifically made for your Dodge Journey.
Many auto supply stores—like Autozone and Advance Auto Parts—will change wipers for free if you’ve purchased the new ones there!
Changing conventional rubber wipers every 6 months is a good idea—but so is taking a semi-annual look at your car insurance and comparing rates.
