Since you live with your sister, you can save money by adding her to your
State Farm
policy. Many companies offer discounts for adding multiple vehicles to a policy and State Farm is one of them!
While adding another vehicle will increase your total policy premium, the cost of each car could decrease as much as 25%!
To add your sister and her vehicle, you’ll need to provide your sister’s information, her vehicle’s VIN, and the
type of coverage
she requires through the online app or your account. State Farm may also require her license plate number and the make and model of her car.
Once you add her, State Farm will give you a quote for a new premium and you can see if you qualify for any other discounts. If you’re happy with the rate, you can continue the process of adding her to your policy.
Pro tip: If the rate increase is too expensive, consider shopping around. Every insurance company rates policies uniquely, so you may still find a lower rate.
