How can you increase the speed of an electric car?

I’ve been looking into buying an electric car, but I’m concerned that they don’t have as much capacity for speed as gas-powered cars. Is there a way to increase the speed of an electric car?

Electric vehicles do tend to have lower top speeds overall when compared to their gas-powered counterparts, but unless you’re a professional racer, it’s nothing that should interfere with your daily life.
While you won’t be able to increase the top speed of your electric car, there are some practices you can do to increase the range and get the most out of your battery life, such as:
  • Using good charging practices (charging to about 80%) per the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Utilizing regenerative braking whenever possible to recharge your battery.
  • Checking your
    tire pressure
     regularly, as underfilled tires can decrease your mileage
  • Increase speed gradually rather than flooring it on the acceleration pedal.
  • Traveling light. The less you have on board, the easier it will be to accelerate.
