How can you get car insurance reduced?

Is there a way to reduce the cost of your car insurance? My insurance recently went up and I'm not sure why. I was happy with my previous rate and I don't want to pay more.

While an
increase in your car insurance
is common, it doesn’t make it any less frustrating. However, you can do a few things to reduce your rate:
  • Ask about discounts. Call your current insurance company and find out if you’re eligible for any additional discounts. You may also want to consider taking a defensive driving or driving training course or enrolling in a telematics program to save money as well.
  • Examine your coverage. If you have optional coverage you *don’t need, consider reducing it. Things like
    towing and labor
    and
    rental car coverage
are helpful in some situations, but not always necessary.
  • Shop around. One of the easiest ways to save money on insurance is to review your options. Every insurance provider offers different rates. Even if your current policy increased, you won’t always pay the same amount. By shopping around, you can find a better deal with another company.
If you want a stress-free way to comparison shop, use the
Jerry
app. Jerry collects quotes from top insurance providers like Nationwide and Allstate to ensure you’re getting personalized coverage for the best price.
Should you be unable to find a lower rate immediately, don’t fret! Rates change frequently. Shop around every six months. If you maintain a clean driving record, you should see your rate decrease over time.
