Does the Tesla Model X have a spare tire?

I’m considering buying a Tesla Model X, but living in a city full of potholes and dodgy roads. I haven’t had much luck with tires on my previous vehicles. Does the Model X have a spare if I hit a pothole and pop my tire?

The
Tesla Model X
does not have a spare tire—and although they’ve been a standard feature on vehicles for decades, there’s a logical reason Tesla doesn’t include them.
Here’s why you won’t find a spare tire on the Tesla Model X:
  • Practicality
  • Weight
  • Lack of use
  • Free roadside assistance
Tesla finds that most drivers don't mind the lack of a spare tire or need it if they get a flat. All Teslas come with a 4-year, 50,000-mile roadside assistance plan covering a flat.
To get roadside assistance for your Tesla Model X, follow these steps:
  1. Open the app.
  2. Select flat tires as the issue you wish to resolve.
  3. Confirm the details, such as where your car is located.
  4. Press request help.
  5. The app should give you a time frame of when to expect a technician.
If you have a Tesla without roadside assistance, you can purchase a spare tire kit—but they often come with a high price tag.
