Does the MINI Cooper Countryman have a spare tire?
I love how compact the MINI Countryman is—but does it come equipped with a spare?

Like many small vehicles, the MINI Cooper Countryman lacks a spare tire. This is because spare tires not only take up cargo space, but add to the overall weight of your vehicle, effectively decreasing fuel efficiency.
Instead, your Countryman will come equipped with run-flat tires. Run-flat tires have strongly reinforced sidewalls and are specifically designed to be safe to drive on even after puncture.
If your run-flat tire does get punctured or go flat, you can generally drive about 50 miles at a rate of 50 mph or less. This should safely get you to your nearest auto shop, or a safe location where you can perform the necessary repairs.
Keep in mind that run-flat tires are not a foolproof solution. Blowouts are still possible! Plus, they can be far more expensive to replace when it comes time to do so.
If you’d like to keep a spare handy, you can purchase an aftermarket temporary spare that fits your MINI. Temporary spares are lighter and more compact than traditional road tires, so they fit in your vehicle’s cargo area while taking up as little space as possible. Don’t worry—they still come mounted on a wheel for easy use.
