How many Mazda 787Bs were made?

My uncle is a major racecar nerd, and he went off the other night raving about the Mazda 787B. He says there was only ever one in existence, but that doesn’t sound right to me—another racecar nerd. Before I bring it up again, can you confirm how many 787Bs Mazda made?

In its 1991 production year, just three Mazda 787Bs were made. The 787B was the follow-up to the 1990 Mazda 787 and is famous for being the first Japanese-made car to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Adorned with car number 55, the
Mazda
787B completed 362 laps in that 13.6-kilometer race to beat out the competition and go down in history—but two other 787Bs were constructed that year as well.
If you or your uncle want to see this record-breaking piece of machinery in person, it is on display at the Mazda museum in Hiroshima and was recently showcased at this year’s (2022) Le Mans Classic.
