Does the Ford Powertrain Warranty cover rental cars?
I bought a Ford Escape in 2020 and have some issues with the powertrain. They’re taking it for service, but that means I need a rental car for a few days—does the powertrain warranty cover rental cars?

Great question! Ford’s Powertrain Warranty covers rental cars for up to $30 per day for ten days. Rental reimbursement is also covered under Ford Protect extended warranty plans. Additionally, there are several extended care packages you can purchase after your New Vehicle Limited Warranty expires that also offer rental car reimbursement:
- PremiumCARE: Ultimate Ford Protect program offers extensive coverage for over 1000 parts.
- Premium Maintenance: Covers all recommended scheduled maintenance as outlined b the vehicle’s Maintenance Schedule plus six wear items: brake pads and linings, clutch disc, engine belts and hoses, shock absorbers, spark plugs, and wiper blades.
- ExtraCARE: Offers protection for 113 components, including many technology parts.
- BaseCARE: Covers 84 critical components.
- PowertrainCARE: Basic coverage for 29 key engine, transmission, and driveline [arts.
- Diesel EngineCARE: Offers protection for all major diesel engine components for up to seven years or 200,000 miles.
