Does the Chevy Trailblazer come with a manual transmission?

If your heart is really set on it, you can find a
Chevrolet Trailblazer
with a manual transmission, but it won’t be in any of the newer model years—and it will have to come from another country. Chevy scrapped the 5-speed manual transmission option after its second generation, and never sold the automatic in the United States. The first generation of Trailblazers had a 4-speed automatic. The second generation offered the option of a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. However, this generation was not available in North American markets.
Today’s Chevy Trailblazer, in its third generation, will have either a 9-speed automatic or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Here are the transmission options available for the Blazer’s model years that were sold in North America:
- 2022: CVT
- 2021: CVT or 9-speed automatic
- 2002-2009: 4-speed automatic
Few SUVs produced today come available as a standard. For a newer manual midsize SUV that’s comparable to the Trailblazer, you might research other options, such as a

or Ford Bronco
