How long does it take to get comfortable driving?
I just got my license a few days ago, and I’m so excited to get out on the road and start driving. I’m still pretty new though, so I am constantly on high alert when I get behind the wheel. How long will it take for me to feel confident as a driver?

It can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to feel comfortable driving. But it is entirely normal to be nervous when you’re in the car solo for the first time.
Here are some tips on how to become more confident and ease your new-driver nerves:
- Practice makes perfect: You may feel that once you get your license, you’re done learning; however, that’s not always true. The more you practice driving in real-life scenarios, the better prepared you’ll be for any situation. Try cruising around an empty parking lot to begin so you can get a feel for your car.
- Drive with an experienced driver: When riding in the car of drivers you trust, pay close attention to their habits and ask them to sharedriving tipswith you.
- Practice driving in all types of conditions: The best way to become a more confident driver is by learning how to drive on all kinds of terrain and in various weather conditions. Drive on less-busy roads, of course, to get used to rain, snow, ice, and more. But again, practice makes perfect!
