Does the BMW X1 have Apple CarPlay?
I’ve always wanted to own a BMW, and the X1 has an attractive price point and everything that I want—except I’m not sure if it comes with my favorite infotainment feature. Does Apple CarPlay come standard on the BMW X1?

It depends—if you purchase a 2019 or newer edition of the BMW X1, Apple CarPlay comes standard. Models prior to 2016 do not have Apple CarPlay compatibility, while 2017 and 2018 X1s can only access Apple CarPlay through the BMW iDrive infotainment system.
Unfortunately, the 2017 and 2018 models that try to use Apple CarPlay through iDrive are littered with bugs and other issues. So if you’re set on having Apple CarPlay, make sure you buy a 2019 or newer model.
