One of my neighbors in my apartment building is dealing with a bedbug infestation, and now I’m paranoid that the bedbugs will invade my unit next. Will my renters insurance cover bedbugs?

“In most cases, renters insurance is not going to cover you for bedbugs. As a tenant, you are held responsible for keeping your living quarters clean and habitable.
There are certain states and cities that have laws about landlords being required to handle extermination expenses if they are notified of the problem within a specific period of time, but you’d still be responsible for cleaning and replacing your personal belongings where necessary.
