Does rental car insurance cover medical expenses when traveling?
Would medical expenses be covered under rental insurance? Rental car companies are often trying to sell me car insurance, but I'm not sure if I need it.

Sophie Newman is a writer from California. Her hobbies include brewing her own kombucha, riding horses, and taking long road trips.
“If you have your own car insurance policy, it’s likely you already have some protection when driving a rental.
If this coverage isn’t satisfactory, you can also purchase varying levels of rental car insurance, including personal accident insurance, which would help cover your own costs of medical care during an accident.
An alternative option is to look into travel insurance, which can also help cover your medical costs when on the road.”
