Does old aluminum wiring cause your home insurance premium to increase?

I just bought a home and during the inspection, the inspector found that the home has aluminum wiring. He told me this was typical for the age of the home and it was of no concern. However, my current insurance company says that they want to increase my premium. Does aluminum wiring always cause your home insurance to increase?

“While aluminum wiring will still be up to code in most areas, it can be a potential hazard to your new home. Aging and the potential for overheating is why most insurance companies will charge higher rates for this type of wiring.
However, not all insurance companies will charge extra money. If you shop insurance rates online like you would for

, you should be able to find a low rate.
