Does it hurt to overfill the oil in your car's engine?

I know bad things can happen to a car engine if there isn’t enough oil inside, but I don’t know what would happen if there was too much oil or if it would do any damage. Does it hurt to overfill the oil in your car’s engine?

You’re on the right track—overfilling engine oil can also have negative effects on your car.
Too much oil in your engine isn’t a good thing. The crankshaft forms air bubbles in the oil, resulting in a foamy fluid that can’t properly lubricate the engine. This can increase wear and tear on the engine.
Excess oil also increases pressure in the engine. The pressure wears down seals and gaskets in the engine, which can be expensive to replace if they are damaged.
You could be looking at a costly repair bill if you put too much oil in your car, but you can save hundreds on
