Does Instacart check your driving record?

I’m pretty deep in the gig economy, and I’m considering working for Instacart. I’m wondering what their hiring protocol is like. Does Instacart check your driving record?

Instacart is a great way to earn extra money! Instacart does perform background checks, including looking over your driving history, as part of its employment process. Instacart hasn’t released specific information on what they are looking for, but as far as people who have applied can tell, they’ve noticed Instacart tends to reject applications that have:
  • Moving violations
  • DUIs or DWIs
  • Reckless driving or negligent driving charges
  • Charges for other driving behaviors that put the safety of your vehicle at risk
A couple of minor ticket violations shouldn’t wave a red flag, but if you’ve accrued multiple violations—or even committed just one major violation—you’ll probably be seen as a high-risk applicant.
