Does Amica insure manufactured homes?

My husband and I are considering buying a double-wide manufactured house instead of a condo. However, we’re worried about insuring it–does Amica insure manufactured homes?

Good news, Amica does insure manufactured homes, so you’re in luck! Thinking about insurance when buying a house is always a great idea.
A standard homeowners policy for a manufactured home covers the following areas:
  • Dwelling coverage
: if your house is damaged by a
    named peril
—fire/smoke, windstorm, or theft, for example—you’ll get help covering the costs of repairs.
  • Personal property coverage
: if your furniture or other items are damaged, such as through theft, you’ll get money to replace them. This differs from dwelling coverage since the first one is for the house, while this part is for all your other belongings.
  • Personal liability coverage
: liability coverage protects you from lawsuits if someone is injured on your property and files a claim against you.
  • Loss of use coverage
: if you ever need to stay at a hotel while your house is under repair, you can be reimbursed.
You’ll want to work with your Amica agent to update things and add the homeowner’s insurance coverage.
